Blue Sky (Plum Village Monastics)

I am a cloud

I am the blue sky

I am a bird spreading out its wings

I am a flower

I am the sunshine

I am the earth receiving a seed

And I am free when my heart is open

I am free when my mind is clear

Oh dear brothers, oh dear sisters

Lets walk together mindfully.

Water Reflecting (Sikh mantra, followed by Plum Village Monastics’ chant)

Aad Guray Nameh         I bow to & invoke primordial wisdom

Jugaad Guray Nameh    I bow to & invoke the unbroken wisdom                                                      of ancestors

Sat Guray Nameh      I bow to & invoke my highest truth

Siri Guru Dayvay Nameh     I bow to & invoke the mysterious                                                                     unseen light of wisdom

Breathing in, breathing out

Breathing in, breathing out

I am solid as a mountain, I am firm as the earth

I am blooming as a flower, I am fresh as the dew

I am free

Breathing in, breathing out

Breathing in, breathing out

I am water reflecting what is real, what is true

And I know there is space deep inside of me

I am free

Green Tara     (Tibetan mantra followed by Plum Village chant)

Green Tara is the mother of all Buddhas, an archetypal equivalent to Mother Mary in the Christian tradition. She is the Buddha of compassion in action, of enlightened activity, a protector whose heart is so deeply moved by the suffering in the world that she relinquishes her throne to take swift action toward healing. As the embodiment of enlightened activity, she specifically inspires us to liberate ourselves from the “eight dangers” of our internal world that lead to suffering: pride, delusion, hatred, envy, fanatical views, greed, clinging, and self-doubt/self-debasement. Liberation from the misery of destructive thinking and destructive emotional patterns connects us back to the soft, tender, beautifully vulnerable beating heart of the world and of ourselves. Liberation from internally inflicted suffering makes us more available to help relieve the suffering of others, and thus we come to embody the spirit of Green Tara.

Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha   Help me, protect me, in my time of suffering. Help us all, protect us all, in our time of suffering. Liberate me from destructive thoughts and emotions; make me a force for healing in myself and healing in the world.

 No coming, No going

No after, no before

I hold you close to me

I release you to be so free

Because I am in you and you are in me
