Restorative Yoga is a form of structured rest that uses props to support and provide comfort to the body, mind, and nervous system while also gently stretching and releasing tension from the body. Yin Yoga is a more active form of stretching but is similar to Restorative Yoga in that the poses are held for long periods and props are used to support the body in a resting position. These practices are ideal for relaxing the mind, releasing anxiety, processing strong emotion, healing the nervous system, improving sleep, reducing inflammation, treating fatigue or overwhelm, and recovering from short-term or long-term illness or injury.
