… What to Expect

🪷 All retreat sessions are held on Zoom. Registrants will receive a pre-retreat handout with suggestions for creating an at-home meditation space as well as other ways to create the right conditions for a successful at-home retreat experience.

🪷 Four (30 – 45 min) practice sessions offered each day, from Sunday through Friday; One practice session offered on Saturday, followed by an optional group reflection to close the retreat. All registrants also have unlimited access to daily yoga & qigong practices. Full Retreat Schedule is listed below.

🪷 Participants choose their own level of participation and design their own personal retreat according to what feels most supportive for each person’s schedule, wellness needs, and aspirations at this time.

Examples of how you might design your retreat week:

🔹 Once per day practice

🔹 Twice per day practice

🔹 Skip a day as needed

🔹 Participate in the full schedule (four sessions per day)

🔹 As many practice sessions as you like on as many days as you like

🪷 Each day offers one 30-minute lying-down resting-meditation session + self-compassion practice. Sunday features a full 75-minute Yoga Nidra session including a gentle sound bath.

🪷 In addition to daily resting practice, each day of retreat offers three 45-minute meditation sessions:

🔹 45-minute sessions begins with 15 minutes of gentle moving meditation + breath-work, either standing or seated on a chair or cushion (your preference). Moving meditations include practices drawn from Yoga, Qigong (healing movement + breath-work originating in China with links to Taoism, Zen, and Traditional Chinese Medicine), Lujong and Nejang (healing movement & breath-work originating in Tibet with links to Tantra and Traditional Tibetan Medicine).

🔹 Following moving meditation, a meditation technique is introduced, leading into a 25-minute silent practice. Practitioners may explore this technique or any personal technique of their choosing. Participants are invited to choose a meditation posture that best suits their body’s needs from moment to moment, including seated, standing, or lying-down meditation. Participants are invited to shift their meditation posture as needed throughout the course of each session to honor their body’s needs.

🪷 Participants may arrive late to sessions or leave early, as needed.

🪷 When registering, participants have the option to include a post-retreat private session with the retreat instructor to reflect, debrief, explore struggles and insights, and ask follow-up questions. During the course of the retreat, all participants are invited to email the retreat instructor with any questions or challenges that arise. On Wednesday, participants have the option to attend a brief mid-week check-in to ventilate any difficulties and ask questions.
